Laundry In Our DNA

The Safer family has laundry and linen in their DNA. Jacob Safer started out as a tailor in the Secaucus area. After spending some time as a tailor, Jacob saw opportunity in the dry cleaning business and started up his own shop. His son Ed Safer followed in his footsteps and ran a dry cleaning service in Wayne, New Jersey and quickly became the most popular dry cleaning service in town. The success that he found allowed him to open up more locations around North Jersey. His children hit the ground running and continued to grow the family business, expanding to up to 13 locations. In the early 2000’s Ed decided to retire and sold the last location.

Starting In Commercial Laundry

Bob Safer, Ed’s son, got into the business of selling industrial cleaners to commercial laundries, restaurants, hotels, nursing homes, and more. Along the way he learned how he would be able to run a commercial laundry. In 2014 he bought a commercial laundry in Allwood area of Clifton, NJ and started small, using a 2001 Chevy Suburban to make deliveries. Bob, along with his wife Doreen and three sons Dylan, Jonathan, and Robert grew the laundry into what it is today. Now they have a successful commercial laundry and also a linen rental business with a wide selection.

Growth & The Future

Towards the end of 2019, the family realized that the laundry was growing too big for the current shop that they were operating out of. This led them to look for bigger buildings to move in to so they can keep up with their growth. They settled on a building in Paterson that is big enough to house the commercial laundry and store their rental linen. The building is currently in the later stages of preparation for a commercial laundry.
